The Inventory Age is one of two features designed to save you countless hours in tracking the status of your inventory to avoid stock outs and FBA Storage Fees.
The goal of Inventory Age is to help you identify your slow moving stock so that you can take actions to avoid high storage fees and long term storage fees.
Although this feature is relevant for all FBA sellers, it’s especially powerful for those who sell 10+ SKUs in 2+ markets.
Table 1: Inventory Age per Country
This is an overview table and pie chart of the age of your inventory across all countries. This is a first indicator showing you at a company level if you have a problem regarding slow-moving stock.
- Age brackets: The table shows your inventory across several age brackets, allowing you to assess any current inventory issues but also potential upcoming ones. For example, if you have large amounts of stock in the 91-180 days bracket then this should already be an alert that certain SKUs are moving slowly and you should put in place a plan to increase the sell-through rate. This is especially relevant if you are doing FBA in the USA due to the Long Term Storage Fees being applied a monthly basis since September 2018.
- Units and SKUs: The table will then show you the number of stock units in each age bracket and how many SKUs are represented in each age bracket.
- Sales Value: You’ll also see the value of the inventory in terms of Sales value. This is the current selling price multiplied by the number of units. This enables you to understand how much revenue you could make if you sold all that inventory
- Total vs Country: You can expand each age bracket to view the split per country. This helps you understand in which marketplaces to focus first.

This second table complements the first one by focusing purely on the real problem units that will incur the expensive Long Term Storage Fees (LTSF).
Currently, this only shows you the country level estimated fees to help you continue your investigation. We’ll be enhancing this in the future to allow you to visualise directly the individual SKUs.

Now that you’ve identified which country(ies) need to be paid close attention too, you can focus on these ones first.
By using the country’s Pixel Graph (also known as Tree Graph) you can determine the following:
- The larger the rectangle, the larger the value of the inventory
- The colour of the rectangle is determined by the age bracket. Hint: If you have any red, you’re in trouble.
- By clicking on a rectangle you’ll see the SKU and ASIN involved as well as the Age split for that SKU. This is important because for any given SKU you may have some young inventory (0-90 days) and some older one (181-270 Days for example). You’ll need to focus just on the units that are going to be entering the LTSF. You can then decide to recall that stock, have it destroyed or run marketing activities to sell-through just those number of units (Note: these are all actions you need to perform outside of Trendle for the moment)
